The press secretary was asked about Trump’s calling the US justice system a “laughingstock.”
“He was voicing his frustration with the lengthy process that often comes with a case like this,” Huckabee Sanders says.
That’s annoying thing about the rule of law and due process. It just takes time, as dictators and autocrats through the ages have always complained.
It’s also the thing that makes ‘us’ different from ‘them’.
The POTUS would really do well to remember that before rushing to grip the pen to sign an order that would discriminate against millions of entirely innocent people.
The NYC attacker who killed eight people and injured 12 others is no more representative of ordinary Muslims than Steven Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter, who killed 58 people and injured 546 more was representative of ordinary white Americans.
It’s actually disturbing that Trump refused to make any comment or commitment to gun control after the colossal loss of life in Las Vegas, but has rushed to tear up the Constitution over a tragic and appalling, but ultimately, far less fatal incident in New York. People say tragedies are not the time for politics but isn’t that exactly what the President is doing?
